Revenue and Cinderella stamp collections often have stamps that have damage or faults created by the use of the stamps such as cut cancels, tears, punch holes, missing perfs, short perfs or thins. Stamps originally on a document or a cover may also have been folded, cancelled, or placed on the edge of a document, and show some indication of surface abrasion. Many of these stamps may also have been affixed to an album page and were soaked in water to remove a hinge remnant or remove paper backing or adhesion and will be without gum.
