Beware of fake, foil or color-enhanced shells from Asia and other locations. About this item(s): Genuine, Canadian, iridescent ammonite shell gemstone. Brilliant, rainbow iridescent, bright coloring. A gem grade clear coat is applied to the protect the ammonite shell from breakage during handling and shipping. (Ammonite shell cannot be used without some form of stabilization since it is naturally very delicate). This gemstone is 100% natural and is not enhanced or colored. Remarks: All of our ammonite products are US Gemologist certified. Working with ammonite requires moderate to advance lapidary experience. Colors my be enhanced by additional polishing. May need to be backed or stabilized before lapidary use. Colors and intensity may vary from pictures slightly due to Iridescent nature of gemstone. Weight: 18cts. (approximate). Size: About 23mm x 22mm x 4mm – varies. Location of discovery: Canada Origin: Company stock. Gemologist / Geologist Notes: Impressive and rare color. Condition Notes: As seen in pictures. Most specimens not professionally cleaned so dirt may be present. Some specimens may be stabilized without our knowledge, as some processes are very hard to detect. Some specimens may have odors from long-term storage, old mounting glue, tags or mouthing material attached. Some specimens may not sit upright as seen in pictures and may require a stand or other propping device. Saw marks may be present on “semi-polished” rough or specimens. Images: All specimens are photographed with bright, natural sunlight at 5000K to 5500K and checked for correct color with a calibrated monitor. Specimens viewed in poor lighting or non-daylight illumination sources may not appear as in the photographs. Some specimens (as noted in the description) may be seen wet or damp to show lapidary potential. In such instances, received item(s) may appear duller until professionally polished. Warranty: We do our best to accurately describe our mineral specimens or rough. However, as it is with most minerals, it’s impossible to determine the exact interior structure or content, so we cannot warranty or refund specimens or rough used for lapidary work. Such work is done at your own risk. We buy copper mining-related minerals, collections and estates.
